People were created with extraordinary talent and amazing abilities and nothing can take these things away. The world, however, has a way of making us look down on ourselves, losing sight of how amazing humans really are. Results of this are seen when people settle for this or that and use less than their full potential. This trend has to end. The world needs nothing less than all we’ve got. We need nothing less than all we’ve got. So now it is time to take back what has been so easily taken from us- confidence in ourselves.
To regain our confidence and to truly see how extraordinary we are as humans, doubt needs to go. Besides being an occasional intrinsic motivator, doubt has no purpose but to make us look at ourselves as less than we really are. The remedy for doubt is actually quite simple-fight it. First, recognize how valuable you are as a human. Then tear it apart. Combat it with thoughts of past and current successes. It has no place for a human looking to re-learning his or her confidence.
Doubt goes hand in hand with negative comments from other people. Constructive criticism and negativity are two different things. Constructive criticism has good motives and it helps individuals improve. Negativity, on the other hand, only feeds doubt and suppresses joy. As humans, we naturally want to belong and to be liked so it would be unrealistic to expect ourselves not to care what other think about us. But when negativity from other people begins to shoot us down, we must fight back. First off, if an individual or group of people are nothing but ego-suppressors, spend as little time with them as possible. They do not deserve to have any part in you regaining your confidence in your self. Realize most of the time that people talk badly about you it simply means that they are seeing negative things about themselves that they do not like. This is their problem, not yours.
The next time doubt creeps into your life or nasty negativity tries crawling back to you, you have the power to fight it. Remember, you are valuable and are too good for doubt. Also, listen to constructive criticism but throw away anything that is not helpful for you rediscovering your value and confidence.
